Frequently asked questions

Delivery will not be on a 'Hiab' vehicle (a truck/wagon mounted crane), so cannot be craned off. All deliveries are made with a tail lift and pump truck offload. Due to the nature of very heavy items and the use of a tail lift, kerbside delivery is the only option with all our deliveries above 100kg in total weight.

Please ensure the road approaching your property is suitable for an 18-tonne rigid delivery vehicle. This means no weight restrictions, narrow or low bridges, and is free from low-hanging branches or obstacles (including parked cars).

It is your responsibility to advise us of any delivery restrictions you may have prior to the goods being despatched.  If we are not advised and the delivery company is unable to deliver there will be a £25 fee to organise a redelivery.

We aim to deliver all orders within 3-5 working days from receipt of your order.

If you require NEXT DAY delivery, orders need to be placed before 10am Monday to Thursday. Next-Day deliveries placed on a Friday before 10am will be delivered the following Monday (excluding Bank Holidays - these deliveries will be on Tuesday). This is at an extra charge of £25 inc VAT per pallet.

Delivery costs are calculated at the checkout stage once a postcode is entered, as the price is based on weight and postcode.

Hello! Once an order has been picked, packed, and dispatched to the delivery company we mark it as fulfilled.

If it is showing as fulfilled it is now with the courier who aims to deliver within 2-3 days and they will be in touch with a 2-hour delivery slot on the day of delivery.

We supply samples of all of our products. Go to the products you would like to see before you buy and select the sample tab. A sample bag is around 300-400g, just enough to see the size, colour, and shape!

If you go to the product you wish to buy you will see a calculator where you enter your measurements of the area you are going to cover, this will estimate how many tonnes/bags you require. For gravel drives and paths, we recommend a depth of 50mm.

Yes, you can! Pop a note on your order at the checkout section or drop us an email at info@loadsofstone.com. We'll be happy to deliver on a day of your choice.

If a Saturday delivery is required this will incur an extra cost of £50.

Also, if you require an AM or PM delivery slot this will be an additional £15 as delivery is normally between 8 am and 6 pm.

We will endeavour to deliver your order on the day requested but please note delivery dates are unfortunately not guaranteed as we use an external haulage company and problems can occur that are beyond our control.

The majority of our bulk bags weigh 850KG and pre-packs being 20KG. Please see the product description for more details.

Please make sure you are available to receive the order and sign for the materials or have made prior arrangements for a third party to do so on your behalf.

If you are not going to be in, then please call us to discuss your delivery. We can sometimes organise with our hauliers to leave the goods without a signature; however, this lessens the chance of the goods being left where you would like them.

It is always recommended to be available by phone on the delivery day, we can then ensure there are no issues and especially no delay.

Changes to orders or cancellations must be made before goods are despatched which is a minimum of two working days before delivery.

Refunds will be made in full if cancelled before the goods leave our yard. If an order is placed and then cancelled after products have already been despatched then a refund will be given less the cost to return or re-route goods to an alternative delivery point. Collection/return costs are usually around £80.00 per pallet, depending on the postcode.  Delivery is non-refundable.

Depending on the change you are wanting to make we do aim to try and make them possible. If your order has already left us and has been despatched unfortunately no change can be made to that product apart from a return which would still attract an additional charge. You can add further products to the order however we can’t guarantee they would arrive together. If your product hasn’t left us and you want to change the product or add on, we can make this possible.

Our decorative gravel is perfect for use on driveways. We recommend choosing angular gravels graded between 14mm and 20mm in size as the chippings lock together when driven over so are less likely to rut or move around.

These gravel sizes also ensure the aggregate is too large to be caught in tyre treads, with hardwearing gravel such as granite, basalt or flint able to withstand vehicle weight and avoiding crushing.

Most of our products have been mechanically screened through meshes of the size specified. However, any screening process can only separate within two dimensions width or length, meaning any screened products may consequently contain particles with one longer dimension than the sizing specified if it has gone through width ways.
