Before placing your order it is key that as the customer you understand and take full responsibility of this important delivery information.
Named Day Delivery?
For a named day delivery please add a note to your order or give us a call - we aim to accommodate any special requests and recognise that delivery days/times for larger products are very important.
If you require a Saturday delivery this is an extra cost of £50 inc VAT per pallet.
We will endeavour to deliver your order on the day requested but please note delivery dates are unfortunately not guaranteed as we use an external haulage company and problems can occur that are beyond our control.
Which company will deliver?
We have several industry-leading partners such as Parcelforce and Palletways. Lower weight orders will ship via a standard carrier like Parcelforce, whilst heavy orders will go through to our specialised pallet delivery service.
How long will your delivery take?
In short... 4-6 working days (Monday-Friday), 8 am – 6 pm delivery times.
We aim to deliver all orders within 4-6 working days (Monday - Friday) from receipt of your order.
August and September are extremely busy and these time frames may be extended due to the volume of orders.
If you require NEXT DAY delivery, orders need to be placed before 1 pm Monday to Thursday. Next-Day deliveries placed on a Friday before 1 pm will be delivered the following Monday (excluding Bank Holidays - these deliveries will be on Tuesday). This is at an extra charge of £20 inc VAT per pallet. Please call if you have any questions about next-day delivery.
If you require a PM or AM slot this is an extra cost of £15.00 per pallet. You can request a timed delivery, this will incur a charge of £25.00 - please call regarding an AM, PM, or a timed delivery.
Standard deliveries usually arrive between the hours of 8.00 am and 6.00 pm but on occasion can be up to 8 pm, if required we can give you closer estimates on the day once the package is out for delivery.
How will your order be packaged?
Orders less than 100kg will arrive bagged and within boxes. Orders over this weight will arrive on their own pallet, heavily wrapped in protective plastic with a cardboard cover wrapped tightly to keep out potential contamination.
We use a Tail Lift for delivery.
Please note that the delivery will not be on a 'Hiab' vehicle (a truck/wagon mounted crane), so cannot be craned off. All deliveries are made with a tail lift offload.
If you are ordering a large quantity (10 tonnes or more) we can sometimes arrange an alternative offload or to be delivered loose so, please call us to discuss.
Due to the nature of very heavy items and the use of a tail lift, kerbside delivery is the only option with all our deliveries above 100kg in total weight.

Can we get to your property?
Please ensure the road approaching your property is suitable for a curtain-sided 18-tonne pallet truck vehicle. This means no weight restrictions, narrow or low bridges, and is free from low-hanging branches or obstacles (including parked cars). If you would like to double-check this then please call us, and we will be happy to help as most obstacles can be dealt with assuming prior planning.
It is your responsibility to advise us of any delivery restrictions you may have prior to the goods being despatched.
What happens when your delivery arrives?
The driver will unload using a tail-lift offload and/or manual pallet truck to push or pull the goods into position. The pallet truck can only be operated on a flat, level, and solid surface which is free from grass or gravel.
The driver will be unable to push or pull the goods up any sort of incline or pull the pallet truck over uneven ground. The small wheels on the pallet truck stop dead if an attempt is made to pull them over a rough surface or gravel.
They may also refuse to make delivery onto a drive as they are worried about causing damage to it with the wheels of the pallet truck. Drivers will sometimes only leave the goods kerbside if you are there to witness it and with your permission.

Do you need to wait for delivery?
Please make sure you are available to receive the order and sign for the materials or have made prior arrangements for a third party to do so on your behalf.
If you are not going to be in, then please call us to discuss your delivery. We can sometimes organise with our hauliers to leave the goods without a signature; however, this lessens the chance of the goods being left where you would like them.
It is always recommended to be available by phone on the delivery day, we can then ensure there are no issues and especially no delay.
If the delivery company is unable to leave your order and they have to attempt delivery on another day this can result in a £15 per pallet charge.
If you receive your order and you think it is incorrect or has been damaged the best thing to do is accept the delivery and phone us immediately. We usually request that photos of the product be sent to email@example.com.
If it has been delivered incorrectly, we will arrange to have it collected straight away and replaced with the correct material. If the product is sent away and turns out to be correct, it can be very expensive to return or have it re-delivered.
Weight Of Goods Information
Weights and bag sizes stated on the website may vary in size by plus or minus 3%, Loads of Stone will try to make sure that they are as accurate as possible but due to the nature of the products, all sizes and measurements are approximate.
Every effort will be made by our hauliers to deliver the goods to where you would like them placed, however, this is not always possible due to the size and weight of the pallet.
Our bulk bags weigh approximately 850kgs which is just under a tonne and our 50 bags of pre-pack bags weigh approximately 1000kgs which is a tonne.
As the driver must manually push or pull the pallet into position, they will struggle to do this if the ground isn’t flat and solid.
Other Delivery Information
We will endeavour to deliver your order on the day requested but please note delivery dates are unfortunately not guaranteed as we use an external haulage company and problems can occur that are beyond our control. Please don’t arrange for a gardener or builder to come to lay the goods until they have arrived, if you are on a tight schedule, it's best to ring us when placing the order.
Timed deliveries should arrive within the hour requested. If your delivery arrives early and you accept it without speaking to us first, we are unable to refund the timed delivery charge.
Due to the nature of very heavy items and the use of a tail lift, kerbside delivery is the only option with all our deliveries above 100kg in total weight. Drivers will be quite rightly worried about causing damage to your drive and often won’t try to get the stone onto your drive in case they cause damage. Tarmac drives in the heat are often a problem as well as drains and stone paving.
We do request you are available by phone if you are not going to receive your delivery. Failure to notify us of this may delay receipt of your order or incur additional costs for failed or re-deliveries. These will be charged to you at a cost in line with our terms and conditions.
