Stop weeds from spoiling your outdoor spaces, while letting your soil breathe. Weedtex  offers a reliable, standard-duty weed control fabric that balances weed suppression with soil health.

What Makes Weedtex Special

  • Effective weed suppression: Weedtex blocks sunlight from reaching weeds, helping prevent germination and growth.

  • Permeable to water, air & nutrients: The fabric allows rain, liquid feed, fertilisers and essential air to pass through to the soil beneath, so your plants remain healthy and nourished.

  • Standard duty strength: Not overengineered, but still durable enough for many garden and landscaping settings.

When & Where to Use Weedtex, and When to Go Woven

Best used for:

  • Garden beds, flower borders, shrub and hedge lines

  • Under bark, mulch, decorative stone, slate, gravel (light to moderate)

  • Beneath decking for weed suppression in garden substructure areas

  • Around planting zones or landscaping edges

When you might prefer a woven geotextile instead:

  • Under heavy aggregate, driveways or paths

  • In areas expecting vehicular or constant foot traffic

  • On steep slopes or embankments needing extra stabilisation

  • Where separation and load support (not just weed control) are required

In those higher-stress cases, a woven geotextile (such as Groundtex woven fabric) will give you improved strength, separation and durability.

Variants, Sizes & Installation Notes

Installation Tips:

  1. Cut to fit the area, allowing for overlap (e.g. 10-15 cm) between sheets.

  2. Use suitable fixings (plastic pegs, metal staples or stronger pins) to pin the fabric down flat and tight.

  3. Lay your mulch, gravel, soil or decorative cover on top immediately or within a short timeframe to protect the membrane from UV and damage.

  4. In garden beds, leave allowance for planting holes; slit the fabric and fold edges back locally to allow planting while keeping most of the cover intact.

Weedtex gives you reliable weed control in gardening and landscaping zones without compromising soil health. It’s ideal for areas where you want suppression but still want permeability and gentle use. For heavier duty, high-stress surfaces, its woven geotextile counterparts are the better pick.
